The Light Superior is a Metalcore band based out of

Amarillo Texas. The band formed in late 2018, with

original members Cody Roye on vocals (formerly of

Sixgun Serenade, Justin Werner on lead guitar

(formerly of Sixgun Serenade), and Giovanni Alvarez-

Jimenez on drums. In later months, the lineup was

completed with rhythm guitarist Chris Torres, and

bassist DJ Fowler. Moving into 2019 just after their

formation, the group hit the ground running: writing

music, and jumping onto shows within and out of the

area. In 2020, despite the hit of the Coronavirus, the

band refused to lose their momentum, just whenever

they really got started. The band utilized this time to

develop connections, record their first 4 songs, make

and release a music video, and still try to get on

shows! In a music-starved hometown with no metal-

music culture (or music culture at all really), the group

has managed to expand outward and get onto shows

with the likes of bands such as: Upon A Burning Body,

We Came As Romans, Of Mice & Men, Secrets, The

Browning, Gideon, Dead American, and more. The

band is currently writing music for their first, full-length

album.
